The Metaverse Design Storyline is the newest addition to H&M's continuing innovation stories. In this work, the brand's design team blurs the distinction between real life and virtual reality by fusing high fashion artistry with virtual reality and dream worlds.

The outcome is a collection that combines genuine, ready-to-wear apparel with digital apparel developed in association with the Institute of Digital Fashion. The physical collection includes various pieces, including a neon-yellow dress, a beaded black bomber jacket, metallic sandals, and futuristic jewellery, all inspired by the idea of the metaverse.

The business stated it focused on circularity and that some goods are created with recycled polyester fibres acquired from its in-store garment collection program. The collection was inspired by the metaverse, a space devoid of gravity's constraints and social conventions. At the same time, works inspired by microscopic cells, vibrant wildflowers, and images of the planet Earth seen from space use the tactile beauty of nature as a source of reference.

The metaverse offers a fresh perspective on personal style and the potential for endless, ever-changing ensembles. The collection explores this territory with a range of 3D filters developed by the Institute of Digital Fashion in its digital atelier. One garment has flowing water droplets encircling the body, while another has aquatic flowers with tips that glisten and seem like algae. Other filters include molten headdresses that flicker with lightning, onyx stone clusters, and a spinning metallic gown. The virtual collection is excellent and is accessible on the H&M website as well as through their 3D in-app feature. Short video animations that use light-accelerated flower and plant growth and rushing water that shapes around an invisible figure to display model-less designs.

We are currently at the height of VR experimentation, meaning there are countless different styles in the digital realm of fashion. The new collection is consistent with H&M's objective to increase its emphasis on ecologically responsible practices over time. The new metaverse-inspired collection includes a few items from recycled polyester fibres from used clothing and textile waste gathered in collaboration with H&M's clothing collecting program in shops. The most recent collection also includes 100% recycled sequins that have been in production for years; look for them on sparkly dresses, leggings, and a jacket and skirt combo. Regarding the digital collection, H&M is providing its family of customers with five augmented reality filters, all of which can be obtained via the H&M app.

Users may virtually try on outfits thanks to Snapchat's AR fashion lenses, which were created in collaboration with the Institute of Digital Fashion. About the metaverse concept, we admired the notion that the limits of fashion might be pushed and the thrill that comes from being able to put on items that you couldn't wear in real life, such as a dress made of glass. Using AR filters was a fascinating method to provide our consumers with a unique experience in the digital world. It was a fun procedure. To provide us with more cutting-edge, futuristic designs that are accessible both online and off, we anticipate H&M will keep experimenting with the digital world of fashion and imagination.
